Rains lash Chenab valley plains, snowfall in higher reaches | KNO

DODA , MAR 21 (KNO) : Many areas in the higher reaches of Chenab valley received fresh snowfall on Wednesday , while the plains in the Bhaderwah, Doda and Kishtwar were lashed by rains, even as the Meteorological Department has forecast continuous wet spell till the weekend.

The temperature dipped several notches below normal due to constant rains in its plains and snowfall in the upper reaches since last night.There was a fresh snowfall in Kailash Mountain Range, Padri Gali, Bhaal Padri, Lal Draman and Asha Pati Glacier surrounding Bhadarwah in the district since yesterday, official sources said .

The cold wave condition once again forced people to remain indoors and light up bonfires to keep themselves warm in cold weather. “We have been trying to resist the severe cold condition since last one day but last night we were left with no other option but to lit the fire place which was not in use since March . In my life, I have never felt to lit fire place in March ,” Abdul Kabir Malik a resident of Bhaderwah said.(KNO)
